To see and do
NIGHT WALKS WITH DR DAVE
It is exciting and also a little scary to be out in the dark tropical night. You hear many sounds from nature, which you are unfamiliar with..here a critter and there a frog...and what was that?..... Did something move?
"What is the funny black bird with something yellow and red dangling from its throat?"
"I think I saw a rat with a very pointed nose.was it really a rat?"
"I saw this huge moth sitting on a wall..it had eyes on it wings..I never knew moth could grow so big. What was it?"
Dr Dave makes you feel relaxed and has an answer for most of your questions. Equipped with our torches, you set out to explore what is hiding in the darkness.
Dr Dave takes only small groups of our guests on a Grade One easy walk of approximately 1-1/2 hour, spotlighting nocturnal wild animals and providing briefings and fascinating details.
Of course every night in the rainforest is different and you might see anything from fireflies, luminous fungi, frogs, bats, insects, bandicoots, wallabies and possums to the more dangerous snakes and spiders.
What you need:
It is essential to bring covered walking shoes, a camera, but most of all - a keen sense of adventure!
Our aim is to provide our guest with some knowledge of our environment here in Far North Queensland
